Working together for a green future
Sustainability in the food service industry is more than just a trend for us, it is part of our responsibility. With resource-saving solutions, recycling concepts and support programs, we are making our contribution to environmentally friendly gastronomy.

Circular economy at Gehrig
Sustainability in every life cycle
Longevity instead of disposable thinking
For us, the circular economy doesn't just start when we take back an appliance, but much earlier:
In the development and selection of durable solutions for everyday professional kitchen use.
Our machines are designed to function reliably in intensive use and to make sensible use of resources over many years. This ensures sustainability not just at the end, but over the entire life cycle.
Maintenance creates more utilization time
Extending the service life of existing machines is a key part of the circular economy for us. Through service, maintenance, technical support and suitable spare parts, we help to keep appliances running efficiently for as long as possible.
Wherever possible, we rely on solutions that allow older machines to continue to be used, for example through compatible components and targeted technical upgrades.
Reconditioning instead of hasty replacement
After their first phase of use, machines can be inspected, taken back and refurbished. Suitable devices are transferred to a further life cycle, functioning components are reused and the remaining materials are recycled professionally.
This approach helps to keep valuable resources in the cycle for longer and reduce waste in a targeted manner. In the accompanying technical article, this idea is even described as a model with two life cycles.
Thinking circular economy with Ariane
With our All inclusive Rent, the circular economy becomes a tangible experience. Customers can rent the Ariane 3300 or Ariane 3700 gastronomy dishwashers from Gehrig - including service, maintenance, detergent and rinse aid in a monthly flat rate.
This model supports long-term use, ensures predictable support and creates the best conditions for value retention and resource conservation. It is precisely such service-oriented usage models that are an important part of the modern circular economy.
Our part in sustainability
Internal CO₂ fund
Gehrig Group AG is a proud part of Metall Zug AG. Metall Zug has already implemented an internal Group CO₂ fund for several years. In order to further motivate business units such as Gehrig Group AG to make sustainable decisions, an internal, contractually regulated CO₂ levy of CHF 120 per tonne of CO₂ was agreed within the Group.
The main purpose of the levy is to give CO₂ emissions a price that is included in all business decisions. This is intended to encourage climate protection measures.
