In addition to its well-known biscuits, rusks and crackers, the traditional Swiss company HUG AG also produces tartelettes, the small cake bases for desserts. An automated cleaning system from Hobart ensures that the baking trays are always perfectly cleaned. GEHRIG GROUP AG also supplies the optimum cleaning system for food production companies.


Tartelette production at HUG in Malters (LU) is fully automated and runs 24 hours a day. On their journey through the production line, the baking trays, which resemble muffin trays, are first filled with shortcrust pastry. Then they pass through a long oven, and after a cooling section, robots remove the finished tartlets from the mold and pack them. Now the baking trays need to be freed from baked-on dough residue and cleaned so that they are ready for the next round as quickly as possible.
